Be Aware Of…
1988 for sure, probably the Masters.
“Awareness becomes consciousness when it has an object. The object changes all the time. In consciousness there is movement; Awareness by Itself is motionless and timeless, here and now.”
-Nisargadatta Maharaj
In the body, pure awareness becomes consciousness: you see an object; you hear a sound; you recognize a thought, and so on.
And it’s consciousness that causes all the trouble, whenever you think that something should not be how it is.
Rather than thinking all the time, now and then, pause, and silently be aware.
The mind … silent … allows awareness to quietly, happily, know itself.
