Each Time

“Nothing should be treated more carefully than anything else.”
-Thich Nhat Hanh
Each time you notice a thought, the importance of what happens next cannot be overstated.
The follow up thought might be, “thank you” … with a little smile.
But if the follow up thought includes desire in any form—you added importance to a thought that was inherently free of desire—that is the very definition mental disturbance.
Allow the noticing of the above example to return you to silent awareness.
In silent awareness, only helpful thoughts appear.
All mental suffering is created by adding importance to thoughts that are inherently devoid of importance.
