Freedom Thinking

I bought the parts I needed—from the Shotgun News magazine—to convert that M1 Carbine to a full-auto M2 Carbine. If there is anything more fun than machine-gunning junkyard cars, I have yet to figure it out.

“You must not be attached to anything that appears in your mind. Then you will obtain freedom thinking.” -Seung Sahn

“Freedom thinking” are thoughts that do not deceive. Thoughts that are practical rather than emotional.

Emotional thoughts—thoughts you care about—make you sad, upset, or irritated. Thoughts you don’t care about are practical, helpful.

For example, when preparing a meal you might think, which knife?, or plate or bowl? With continued practice, each thought you notice will return you to awareness … listening for the next helpful thought.

Apply the above to more and more activities.

“Think only and entirely and completely of what you are doing at the moment and you are free as a bird.” -R.H. Blyth

Be more aware. Awareness is free of deception.
