Gain Stability
“When I walk out into the world, I take no thoughts with me. That’s not easy, but you can learn to do it. An empty mind is hungry, so you can look at everything longer, and closer. … When you listen with empty ears, you hear more.” -Mary Oliver
Mary and her pal.
Appropriate responses and helpful thoughts arrive in silent awareness.
Attention is the ultimate medicine. Grounding you in the immediate present, it is the remedy for most mental issues.
Most problems arise from resistance to the present experience. You wish the weather was different, and on and on… There is no resistance in awareness.
With practice, reminding yourself to be aware becomes less necessary. Sit silently for a bit and know you are aware: it is simply the feeling of being present.
When listening to the silence, you are peaceful.
Gaining stability in awareness improves everything.

Comment are welcome, and all questions will be answered.
I’ll post a new topic each Friday afternoon, in one of two categories. One will be on shooting, and the other will be on living. Or: how I learned to live from what I learned by competing.
Thanks for coming in.
