Inattention

“The only evil is inattention.” -Wu Hsin

When you can’t find something, like your phone or keys, when were you inattentive?

When you don’t know you are thinking, and therefore don’t know what you are thinking about—that inattentive state is the source of all problems.

The secret to peaceful living lies in not caring about what cannot be changed.

But of course to do that, you cannot be inattentive.

Whenever you catch yourself wanting something to not be as it is, pause, and ask, can this be changed, or not? If it can be changed, do it. If it cannot, let it go.

Just doing that, more and more, improves every aspect of living.

When you know you are aware, every thought is relevant and helpful, and every movement is effortless and impeccable.
