Let Go

Elliot – the King of Happy.
I received a couple questions about this quote:
“Running around and accusing others is not as good as laughing, and enjoying a good laugh is not as good as going along with things. Be content to go along and forget about change and then you can enter the mysterious oneness of Heaven.” -Chuang Tzu
Question: “But what about all the very real suffering of so many people in society, in the world, that causes inner suffering, even if you overcome negative thoughts? Do you have to suspend reality to ignore the suffering of others? Otherwise, how can it not negatively impact you?”
It’s easy and maybe even natural to apply that quote to, for example, the horrible tornado tragedies or other realms of suffering.
But that is not the point of his advice at all. The point is to see if his suggestion is helpful in managing your moment-to-moment, personal life.
Question: “If I cannot resolve a situation to my desired outcome, let it go?”
Yes. The more ideas you let go—especially ideas about how anything should be, including yourself—the happier you naturally are.
