Nice
Me and Bruno and an unnamed cat, on the farm… around 1975.
“By being alive to difficulty one can avoid it.” -Lao Tzu
We readily notice everything we object to, but we seldom notice our mental state when nothing is “wrong.”
The next time you hear yourself saying “this is nice,” realize what didn’t happen. There was no interference, no resistance, to the present moment.
Also is a subtle, but seldom recognized, appreciation of life itself.
Equanimity is the absence of resistance.
Be more attentive. As attention steadily interrupts the habitual tendency to make everything right or wrong, living simplifies itself.
What you don’t object to cannot bother you.
