Pure Awareness

Me, Michele, and BabyJoni… Late 1976.
“Thoughts may be agitated, feelings distressed, the body in pain and the world troubled, but pure knowing, being aware or awareness itself is never perturbed by anything that occurs in experience. Thus, its nature is peace itself.”
-Rupert Spira
Experience itself, without thought, is inherently pure.
Witness this: Almost imperceptibly, following the naming of a sensation—whether a feeling or perception—a judgement occurs. The sensation “becomes” good or bad, okay or not okay.
More and more, know you are aware.
When the mind is quiet, not thinking, not naming sensations, you are inherently peaceful.
The wonderful thing about awareness… Disturbing states, such as desire, anxiety, fear, worry or regret, simply do not exist.
Steadily, quietly, rest in inner silence.

Only in thought is anything unacceptable.
