The Mind Imagines

Back in my coyote trapping days… Florence AZ, 1979.

“Awareness only knows now; the mind imagines time.”
-Rubert Spira

Know you are silently aware, and witness: Only when you begin thinking does time seem to exist.

Also note that when you’re thinking, typically, what you are thinking about isn’t actually happening, isn’t actually present.

So, to think is to imagine.

All mental difficulty is the outcome of imagination.

The only experience that is not imagined is the feeling of being present—now.

Train to live in the now as often as possible, and watch as living effortlessly sorts itself out.

When imagination ends, awareness—or the peace of presence—remains.
