What is Important

“There is such a way, open to all, on every level, in every walk of life. Everybody is aware of himself. The deepening and broadening of self-awareness is the royal way. Call it mindfulness, or witnessing, or just attention—it is for all.”
-Nisargadatta Maharaj

The secret to peaceful living is subtly hidden in everything you do.

Watch your life as an impassive observer, and find the one thing that never changes.

Although seldom if ever recognized, throughout your entire life—you are always aware of being alive, of being present.

In pleasant or unpleasant circumstances, whether you feel cold or warm or happy or sad, the feeling of being present is always with you.

“What is most important is what is now, whether you can alter the way you live now.” -Krishnamurti

Rather than taking every thought seriously… Shift the focus from caring about what you are thinking about to simply watching thoughts appear.

Be the detached witness: Pause, and wonder, “I wonder what the next thought will be?” Pause, listen, notice, let go; pause, listen, notice, let go…

Do not try to name or understand the witnessing principle, just stay with it.

Living is more fun the less you dwell on it.
